Feb. 7, 2025
No one was hurt when the Spokane Quint struck the house and the engine hit two parked vehicles.

Spokane residents escaped not one but two close calls with fire apparatus that slid down the same hill Thursday morning. One hit a house while another struck a car that had previously been occupied.

Kayte and Jordan Johnson told KREM they were sitting in one of the cars with their three kids when Quint 13 slid by it before hitting the house.

They got out of the vehicle just before Engine 16 slid down the same hill and hit it, KREM reported.

The person in the house was not hurt. A building inspector said there was no strucutral damage. However, the truck will be out of service.

The engine was expected to return to service.

No injuries were reported in either crash.
